Fall is definitely in the air and what better way to enjoy it than to build a scarecrow! Last week the Grade 3/4 class build a scarecrow to enter into the community Harvest Festival which occurred this past Saturday. Kids (and teachers) had a great time constructing our garden friend.
Yesterday the Grade 4/5s took on the role of “big kid” for the little children in our building. They did a fabulous job with that I might add. As part of our Literacy Week celebration, we read stories to the little tots from the Best Start Hub as well as the boys and girls in both our Kindergarten classes. Some of us REALLY enjoyed hanging in the Kindergarten rooms. 🙂 A good time was had by all!
Our students were delighted this morning to have several players from the English Miners in our school. This being Literacy Week the Miners came to read to students. We welcomed Evan to our room. He was a hit!
Tomorrow evening (Tuesday) the Rams will be playing their first game on home ice for this season. In support of our local high school team, students and their families will be given free admission into the game. There will be prizes and other fun stuff so come on out to the local arena for a great night and support our RAMS!

Just a reminder that this Friday is business as usual at GLC. In the past, we often end the school year with a PD day. That is not the case this year. Friday will be the final school day of the year for students and teachers alike! 🙂
It’s not to late to order!
This afternoon our entire school assembled down to the lower campus for a rooftop photo. Students can still place an order if they do it by tomorrow. If you don’t have a form at home, you could send the money with your child and I will fill out the paper work. 11 x 14 photos are $15; 8 x 10 photos are $12. You can pay by cash or cheque. Cheques are made payable to “Lifetouch.”
